Client: Capuchin Soup Kitchen of Detroit
The Challenge: For many individuals walking through the doors of the Capuchin Soup Kitchen, their needs go far beyond physical hunger. They are often seeking emotional healing and a sense of belonging. The organization wanted to highlight one of its most unique “healing tools,” an eclectic choir made up of guests, volunteers, and staff. The challenge was to move beyond the music itself and capture the profound psychological impact of the program, demonstrating how a creative outlet can provide accountability, dignity, and a reason to keep going.
The Solution: Eidolon provided comprehensive Direction, Production, and Post-Production services to create a a soulful, character-driven film that centers on the voices of the choir members themselves. By blending rehearsals with intimate testimonials, the video illustrates the choir as a “feast for everyone,” where diverse backgrounds and personalities blend into a single harmony. We focused on powerful personal narratives, ranging from an 86-year-old member finding a new outlet to a staff member who credits the group with saving lives. The result is a moving story that positions the soup kitchen as a place of holistic restoration, not just a service provider.
